Personal Profile

Mark Hourigan is managing director of Bayleys Capital Commercial and a major shareholder in Capital Commercial (2013) Limited which is jointly owned by Bayleys Real Estate and Bayleys Capital Commercial’s leading salespeople.

He leads a team of 20 agents providing a full range of sales and leasing services across the office, industrial, retail, hospitality, tourism and large scale apartment property sectors in the region.

From Bayleys’ capital city base on Lambton Quay, Mark co-ordinates activities across a diverse geographical region encompassing Wellington, Hutt Valley, the Kapiti Coast and as far north as Horowhenua and Wairarapa. He leads from the front and from a vast market insight, having been one of Wellington’s leading commercial and industrial property deal makers for over 25 years. Since his time at Bayleys he has been involved in more than $650 million worth of transactions.

Since establishing Bayleys’ Wellington commercial and industrial operations in January 1999, Mark has concentrated on fostering a culture that is the envy of other real estate companies; harnessing the collective energy and knowledge of a team of focused and passionate property professionals to the benefit of vendors and landlords.

Mark also plays a pivotal role in Bayleys’ national commercial and industrial operations, being part of a group of key decision makers that sets the strategies and standards for Bayleys’ activities in this sector. This ensures that clients receive the full benefit of Bayleys’ national commercial property network, which is the largest in the country encompassing over 160 salespeople, and from national and international marketing initiatives.

An example of the value of the Bayleys network can be seen in the recent sale of a Christchurch office building on behalf of NZX listed DNZ Property Group for $6,720,000. Mark acted as vendor liaison agent and worked in conjunction with senior Bayleys’ brokers in Christchurch to secure a sale. He also continues to undertake work for other long standing clients such as Robt. Jones Holdings and Foodstuffs (Wellington).

Mark also works closely with Bayleys Property Services in Wellington which provides a range of “add value” post sales services to buyers including property, facilities and project management.
